Lalor: Poughkeepsie Journal Misleads Readers, Forgets to Mention Subject of Fawning Profile is a Far-Left Candidate for Congress

By Kieran Lalor, on Apr 9, 2013

Fishkill, NY: Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor (R,C,I - Fishkill) is calling on the Poughkeepsie Journal to explain why it failed to inform its readers that the subject of a fawning profile is a Democrat candidate for Congress.

"Yesterday's fawning Poughkeepsie Journal profile of Sean Eldridge forgets to mention that Eldridge is a Democrat

Fact Checking the Poughkeepsie Journal: Soros-Funded Reporters and Personal Feuds

By Kieran Lalor, on Feb 24, 2013

The Poughkeepsie Journal's editors are at it again, acting as liberal activists instead of journalists.  The Poughkeepsie Journal's latest political attack is from writer Mary Beth Pfeiffer.  Pfeiffer is a George Soros Justice Media Fellow.  That's right, Pfeiffer received grant funding from left-wing billionaire George Soros' foundation to write a book called Crazy in America. On top of that, Executive Editor Stuart Shinske is driven by a personal bias.  In the September 2012 GOP Primary, I beat Rich Wager Jr., the son of Shinske’s friend and mentor, former Poughkeepsie Journal publisher Richard Wager Sr.  Since then, Shinske’s reporting, as you’ll see below, has been bizarrely tinged by a personal vendetta.

The latest Poughkeepsie Journal political target is Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans for Congress (AIVC), the all-volunteer political action committee I started in 2008. I'm proud of the work done by AIVC to get conservative vets elected to Congress and I won't be bullied by the far-left.

The Journal's story is unvarnished nonsense.  This was a misleading hit piece from the beginning and we have the email chain to back it up.  We caught the Soros reporter red handed, manipulating stats to help her predetermined narrative (see here, here, and here).

This story is filled with manipulations of statistics, errors, and deception.  Please take a few moments to read our Fact Check and share it with your family and friends who might read the Poughkeepsie Journal.

I met New York Assembly candidate Kieran Michael Lalor at the Conservative Party brunch in the spring, and I peppered him with questions. He was unflappable and gave thoughtful, detailed answers to policy questions. A few months later, Lalor knocked on my door while gathering signatures.

Kieran Michael Lalor’s candidacy for New York state Assembly gives me hope that we can end the culture of corruption in Albany because Lalor is so different than the career politicians we normally see on the ballot.

First of all, Lalor is a self-starter who finds a way to get things done.

Lalor Letter to the Editor: State Lawmakers Waste Our Money on Themselves

Recently the General Services Administration (GSA), a federal agency that manages offices and transportation for the federal bureaucracy, has come under fire for wasting $822,000 in taxpayer money on a Las Vegas conference for its employees.   Unfortunately, these violations of the taxpayer are nothing compared to the way our state lawmakers take our money to feather t

I was excited to learn that Iraq veteran Kieran Michael Lalor is running for the newly drawn 105th Assembly District seat.

Lalor, you may recall, was the upstart Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in 2008.

In the last decade 1.6 million people fled our state because Albany’s culture of corruption leads to bloated government and billions of tax dollars squandered.  To feed the government beast and stay in office, politicians relentlessly take an ever-increasing share from the productive, hard- working taxpayers to subsidize the po
